Do you have a work BFF? In our latest 4-part Friendships at Work mini-series, we dig into the surprisingly powerful impact of having friends on the job; why it’s about more than just sharing a coffee or a lunchtime laugh. Think about any big life event: a wedding, a milestone birthday, and chances are, a current or former colleague is on the guest list. Rather than a nice to have, there is evidence that proves that workplace friendships are a need to have for sustaining engagement, well-being, and long-term success at work.
Work often introduces to people we might not typically meet, and the joy that can come from work friendships that come in all shapes, sizes, and strengths. In our first episode we explore how to create the space for good working relationships and acknowledge the post-Covid challenge for the teams who went remote.
We hear from Karl Allcoat about the life-changing benefits of finding a good network of people especially if you are in a minority community. Then from Abigail Wilmore where we explore how to ensure we look after those who look after others (and insights from the fascinating world of luxury fashion!). And then we wrap up with Tash Koster-Thomas on how being thrown together in a workplace can create amazing connections wand camaraderie.
